What is the best thing for mites in ears in large outside dog and how can it be prevented?

I’m doing a project in my biology class and have to raise a viritual puppy litter. I tried looking up how old puppies are when they open their eyes, but I have found answers ranging from 8 – 21 days. This seemed like a pretty big range, so I decided to come here. Is it also true that a puppy’s ears usually open a few days after their eyes?

What brand of dog food would you recommend to change to?

My 5 year old dog just came home from the vet with a yeast infection in her ears. The vet has suggested that we change her food and treats to help clear up the infection. She recommended that we change to food with rice, chicken, veggies or fish. Was looking for brands that others have tired? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
