Barking dog: What can you do about an inside dog barking when owners are gone. I’m in Michigan?
Written by gitterdun on March 31, 2009 – 5:54 pm -J.Mc. asked:
The dog is in a room that shares a wall with our bedroom and when its owners are gone it whines and barks for hours on end. We are not on good terms or friendly with our neighbors, so what , if anything can be done?

Weird dog behavior?
Written by gitterdun on March 28, 2009 – 10:51 pm -anabaci asked:
My dog recently started acting really weird. He is a healthy one year old lab, usually with lots of energy and very happy. All of a sudden he seems to be fearing things inside my house. He looks worried and keeps staring into the hallway and living room of my house, while trying to get into our arms. He seems to be getting worse by the day. He puts himself in corners, tucks his tail between his legs…He even started trying to climb the walls! But what’s weirdest of all is that he stares at walls. He has gone up to 10 minutes staring at a corner. If we call him, he just looks at us and looks back. He sometimes starts panting too. He is not dehydrated, we never use punishment, only positive reinforcement and we are getting worried. We are leaving on vacation for a month but our sister is going to watch over him, and we are keeping calm and cool as to not worry him, for separation anxiety purposes. I am just getting worried now that he needs medical attention or not?!

If my neighbors barking dog makes it over the fence can I shoot the dog?
Written by gitterdun on March 27, 2009 – 9:44 pm -Corey R asked:
I live in California and have two small children. The people behind us just moved in and build a dog run up against the bordering fence. They also placed the dog house against the fence and the dog is trying to get over to my yard.
These dogs bark & growl all day long. If they make it through the fence or over the fence. Do I have the right to shoot the dogs?

Agressive dog behavior?
Written by gitterdun on March 27, 2009 – 9:48 am -shrpsh501 asked:
I have 2 dogs, a 12 year old full blooded Lab and a 6 month old 3/4 Boxer -1/4 Lab mix and they have been fighting over bones! They do not fight over their food, they share a bowl and sometimes drink water at the same time, however when I give them each a bone they always want the same one! I thought at first it was always the pup causing the problem, but I have to say the older dog is just as guilty of taking the bone away from the pup. In the past couple days they have gotten fairly vicious about it, snarling, growling, and snapping at each other. I witnessed a pit bull attack 2 weeks ago on a neighbor’s puppy and since then i have become very jumpy, and now this with my dogs. Any advice on how to handle this, or just not give them special treats?? Seeing the vet this weekend and intend to ask her, but thought maybe someone here would have some suggestions. THANKS!
